Bortner Joins Monument Policy Group as Government Relations Associate
Washington, D.C. - Monument Policy Group, LLC announced today that Colin H. Bortner has joined the firm as a Government Relations Associate. In 2009-2010, Bortner seved as a Fellow to the firm. “Colin has excelled in providing valuable advice to our clients and we are excited to have him join us full-time,” said Founder and Partner C. Stewart Verdery, Jr.
Colin specializes on issues relating to network neutrality and Internet regulations, broadband access and adoption, privacy and data security, comprehensive immigration reform, and cybersecurity. He also has worked on transportation security, housing and financial education, and healthcare.
Prior to joining Monument Policy Group, Bortner served as an intern to the House Homeland Security Committee, where he worked on issues relating to cybersecurity and transportation security.
Colin graduated from the University of Rochester in 2008 with a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics and Linguistics. He also studied Creative Writing for a year on scholarship. After graduation, Colin bicycled across the United States. His personal interests include writing short stories, mathematics, programming, reading, bicycling, and travel. He was born and raised in California's Central Valley.
