Washington, D.C. - Monument Policy Group LLC today announced that Scott Corley will join the firm later this month as Senior Vice President.

Scott Corley is currently Director of Government Affairs for Microsoft Corporation, where he focuses on Senate outreach and technology issues. A recognized leader in the field of high skilled immigration policy, he has worked tirelessly as Chairman of the Advocacy Committee within Compete America, a coalition focused on the recruitment and retention of skilled talent from around the world, to promote and pass comprehensive immigration reform. His work for Microsoft since 2005 has included advocacy on a wide range of policy issues crucial to technology development, including telecommunications, competition, workforce, tax, and trade policy.

“Microsoft is a great company, and nothing but an amazing opportunity to work with equally talented people could induce me to leave. In Monument Policy Group, that is exactly what I found,” Corley stated.

From 2003 until 2005, Corley was Director of Government Relations for the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), focusing on commerce and workforce issues. Corley also has served as a senior staffer in both the Senate and House of Representatives. He worked for Senator George Allen (R-VA) as both his technology policy advisor and personal staffer to the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force, where he helped pass the first extension of the Internet Tax Freedom Act. Before crossing over to the Senate, Corley was Representative Jim Rogan’s (R-CA) Energy & Commerce Committee staffer.

“Scott is well-respected as a technology policy leader who has built a reputation as a creative legislative thinker willing and able to work across the political spectrum to get results,” said Founder & Partner C. Stewart Verdery, Jr. “We are confident that Scott will help us build an even more dynamic technology and telecommunications practice and bring great relationships with the Senate to bear for our clients."

Added Partner Jessica Herrera-Flanigan, “Scott is a great addition to Monument Policy Group, adding to the firm’s thriving bipartisan, bicameral technology and immigration practices. As someone who has worked in the House, in the Senate, at an association, and in a corporation, Scott brings a unique and sought-after perspective that will help us better serve our existing and potential clients.”

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Corley received his B.A. in Political Science at Baylor University and is completing an M.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins. His father, Dr. Bruce Corley, is President of BH Carroll Theological Institute in Arlington, TX. His mother, Linda, is a retired school teacher.
